후쿠오카 · 후쿠오카시
The main store of one of Fukuoka's largest sake specialists. It is strong on shochu and natural wine as well, but the refrigerated sake cases and the recommended selection stand out. The shop is large and attractive and the staff are good at picking a bottle once you describe your taste. Rather than expecting dedicated foreign-language service, it is better to simply take their basic recommendations. One-bottle-per-person items sit quietly in the chilled section and vanish within a day or two — scan the POP cards.
The shop runs an online store with in-store pickup and delivery. Popular labels such as Oroku, Ubusuna, Gakki Masamune, and Kudoki Jozu may be on display, but general sale or stock is not always guaranteed. Rather than going with a rare bottle in mind, it is better to ask the staff about today's recommendations and what has come in. Cards accepted.
It is not right next to central Hakata but rather in a residential area, so it is a destination visit. The Sanchiku main store is larger than the Yakuin branch, and if you drive you can use the parking lot. In busy seasons such as year-end, both the parking lot and the shop get crowded.
