A long-established liquor retailer founded in 1957, right in front of Yoyogi-Hachiman Station. The interior was renovated in 2022, and it now doubles as a kakuuchi (standing bar) that runs as a cafe by day and a bar by night. The shop is small, but the sake and wine lineups (wine mostly French) are substantial, and you can try a glass before buying.
At the kakuuchi you pay first at the register by the entrance and then receive your drink. For sake you can choose the glass and how it is served, and some bottles are available to taste. Local sake such as Fudo from Chiba is well stocked at good value, and the wine runs from the 1,000 yen range up to high-end bottles. The homemade focaccia lunch set is popular as well. Think of it as a place to taste and then choose rather than to hunt rare bottles.
Right outside Yoyogi-Hachiman Station on the Odakyu and Chiyoda Lines. Easy to slot into a walk around Yoyogi Park.
