About

A city-center sake specialty store on level B2 of GINZA SIX. Built on a network of producers nationwide, it carries sake, Japanese wine, imported wine, shochu, whisky, liqueur, and sake vessels, and access is very easy on a Tokyo trip. Staff speak English, Chinese, Korean, and other languages, so overseas visitors can explain their tastes and get recommendations. Some reviews are unhappy with the service, so there is variation between staff.

How to buy

If you only have room for one sake shop in Ginza, this one ranks high. In the afternoon a paid kakuuchi counter lets you try about 20 sake and wines by the glass before buying, and many seasonal bottles such as hiyaoroshi come in. Items such as Dassai 23, Tsurume Yuzu, and Hououbiden Yuzu are in high demand, and popular products sell out quickly, so stock cannot be guaranteed. Tax-free purchase is available, but you have to go to a separate counter elsewhere in the building, which takes a little time. The official Korean-language page also lists the duty-free conditions for entering Korea: up to 2 L of alcohol and a total value of 400 dollars or less.

Getting there

On B2 of GINZA SIX, it is one of the easiest sake shops to fit into a Ginza shopping route. The store sits toward the back of the second basement level, so on a first visit it helps to check the floor map for the IMADEYA GINZA listing. On Saturdays, 3–5 p.m. is shown as the busiest time.
