About this sake

Wakanami is produced by Wakanami Shuzo, a brewery founded in 1922 in Okawa City, Fukuoka Prefecture, on the banks of the Chikugo River, from which the brand takes its name. This Junmai is made with locally grown Jugennmu rice milled to a 65% seimaibuai. It offers aromas reminiscent of grapes and steamed rice, with a gentle sweetness and umami balanced by a firm acidity and a touch of bitterness that leads into a clean, crisp finish. The brewery describes its house style as a wave-like interplay of an approaching sweetness followed by a receding, crisp aftertaste.
