About this sake

Koeikiku is produced by Koeikiku Shuzo in Ogi City, Saga Prefecture, a brewery that closed in 2006 and was revived in 2019 by two people who had previously worked in television production. The lineup centers on unfiltered, unpasteurized nama genshu and spans several grades including junmai and junmai daiginjo, with rice variety and polishing ratio varying by product. The sake is known for fresh, fruit-like acidity paired with juicy sweetness, and while alcohol content tends to be low, it retains a substantial umami depth that gives a light yet lingering impression. The brewery's toji previously made the well-regarded Kikutaka brand, and aims for a style that balances acidity and umami with a clean, crisp finish.
