About this sake

Akabu SEA is a junmai sake produced by Akabu Shuzo, a brewery in Iwate Prefecture originally founded in Otsuchi in 1896 and rebuilt in Morioka after its original facility was destroyed in the 2011 earthquake and tsunami. This junmai is milled to a rice-polishing ratio of 60% and bottled undiluted at around 13% alcohol, with bottle pasteurization used to preserve a light natural carbonation. It offers a clear, bright sweetness balanced by firm acidity and fruit-forward flavor, giving a refreshing, easy-drinking character suited to warm weather. The name SEA reflects the brewery's intention to evoke the clear blue ocean of its home region.
