About this sake

Shichida is a junmai sake brand produced since 2001 by Tenzan Shuzo, a brewery based in Ogi City, Saga Prefecture, using soft-to-medium mineral water drawn from the foothills of Mount Tenzan. This junmai daiginjo, labeled muroka (unfiltered), is brewed with Yamada Nishiki rice grown in Saga Prefecture, polished to a 45% seimaibuai, and bottled at 16% alcohol. It presents a clean, violet-like aroma paired with the rich, concentrated flavor typical of unfiltered sake, and is noted as a good match for food. The sake received the runner-up prize at the 2018 U.S. National Sake Appraisal.
