About this sake

Mikotsuru is produced by Suwa Mikotsuru Shuzojo, a brewery located in Shimosuwa Town, Suwa District, Nagano Prefecture. To avoid quality decline from price competition, the brewery makes all its sake at junmai grade or above, and has standardized its junmai ginjo at a 50% rice-polishing ratio for a simple lineup. The sake is noted for its well-balanced juicy umami, sweetness and acidity, with the junmai ginjo aiming for a flavor that makes the heart flutter with the first sip. The brand's junmai ginjo made with Sanekinishiki rice won the top junmai ginjo trophy and the overall Champion Sake title at the International Wine Challenge 2021 in London.
